Pallet Trucks for Customer Deliveries

March 2021

When choosing a hand pallet truck or an electric pallet truck for customer deliveries, not all trucks are equal! Applications will, of course, vary. But in most situations, a delivery pallet truck should be:

Not all delivery applications require an electric pallet truck. But a powered pallet truck should be considered when deliveries involve multiple drops and heavy loads. A powered machine should also be chosen in applications where slopes and bumpy, uneven ground are regular occurrences.

Wet and slippery surfaces (like a tail lift) require a suitable wheel material to give grip and control. Rubber or Vulkollan are good choices, but treaded tyres should also be considered. Our range of electric pallet trucks can be supplied with a treaded drive wheel as an optional extra.

For lighter loads and less frequent deliveries, a hand pallet truck may be sufficient. However in most delivery applications, a braked pallet truck is necessary for safe, controlled movement of loads on uneven, bumpy & slippery surfaces. Our range of electric pallet trucks are fitted with electromagnetic brakes as standard. Our hand pallet trucks can be ordered with a brake as an optional extra.

Lastly, a low noise pallet truck may be needed for early morning or residential area deliveries. Our Panther Silent pallet truck has been specially designed for applications where noise must be kept to a minimum.
